    Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some guidance on low purine dog food options. My dog has been diagnosed with urinary issues related to high purine levels, and the vet recommended switching to a diet that’s lower in purines to help prevent the formation of urate stones.

I know this is especially common in breeds like Dalmatians, English Bulldogs, and some terriers, and it can be tricky to manage through diet.

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s dealt with this:

    • What brands or recipes have worked for your dog?

    • Are you using prescription food (like Royal Canin UC or Hill’s u/d), or homemade diets?

    • What protein sources are considered safe for low-purine diets?

    • Any ingredients or treats I should absolutely avoid?

    • How do you balance nutritional needs while keeping purines low?

I’ve been researching for days, and it feels like there’s not a lot of clear info out there. Any personal experience, recommendations, or even sample meal plans would be super helpful.

Thanks so much in advance! 🐾
