Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to get some advice from fellow dog owners. My pup was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and while we’ve started treatment with meds, I’m now looking into switching his food to something more supportive for his condition.
I’m specifically looking for the best dry dog food for hypothyroidism something that supports metabolism, maintains a healthy weight, and avoids ingredients that could interfere with thyroid function.
A few questions:
-
Are there any brands you’ve used that helped manage symptoms?
-
Should I avoid soy, grains, or certain additives?
-
Any dry food options with added omega-3s or antioxidants?
-
How did you balance calorie intake if your dog gained weight from the condition?
Any suggestions or personal experiences would really help! I’m open to premium or vet-recommended brands if they’ve made a difference.
Thanks in advance!
